Allegretto Outreach; Music programs in the Cape Cod Schools

Allegretto Outreach goes to Cape Cod Elementary schools to perform musical instrument demonstrations. We do an program of 50 minutes
usually for about 40-50 children at a time. Ten of our musicians discuss and play instruments such as:  trumpet, fiddle, flute, piano, guitar, bagpipes, saxaphone, harp, cello, bass, drum, mandolin, banjo, slide guitar, harmonica and more...
Every year in February about 20 musicians gather at Snow Library in Orleans to show school children their different instruments. Allegretto, under the diretcion of Dinah Mellin, has offered this FREE program thru the aupices of The friends of Snow Library for 12 years.
This year, 2008, Harwich Community Access Television station Channel 18 came to tape the whole show. Mance Grady wowed the audience with his Irish drum, the bodhram. Mark Prall, a veteran of this music demo, percussionist with  The Cape Symphony and Plymouth Symphany, got right down on the floor to show the children the glockenspiel.

About Me

My photo
Fun loving Celtic/Folk/Blues fiddle player and artist. It's more about the interaction with fellow musicians than about being a soloist! I love where I can go, in and around the tunes.. I am an illustrator and graphic artist. Love abstract art/design. One day I'd love to do a cover for The New Yorker.
